SHKOLNA O. V. Silk at Ukrainians’ everyday life in XVII – XIX centuries: issues of preservation and exhibition of local museums.

       The article is devoted to the occurrence and origin of silk. The fashion spread in this material world is considered. Special attention was paid to the technology of silk thread. Comment on the production and specificity of filature and silk weaving. It was found aspects of this kind of art in Oriental countries and in Europe. Trends of silk production in Ukraine and the Russian Empire are presented. Tissue samples from the first national museum collections are detected. It was found that they made at the end of XVI – early XVII century using the silk thread in embroidery.

     The features of tools and equipment silk weaving workshops on lands of ethnic Ukraine are considered. Article presents data on the functioning of some domestic industries. It was found questions of geography spread silk factories in Ukraine. Some of their locations in monasteries, manor estates are refined. The most state enterprises of the late eighteenth-nineteenth centuries are named. Been outlined available statistics on the work of local and foreign artists on them. The list of domestic workshops, factories and factories of silk are released.

    The major silk fabric of Ukraine and Russia for the tenth and twentieth centuries are listed. The findings relative to the specific weave warp and weft in domestic silk, half-silk, velvet, brocade, satin tissues. Consumption of some of them in church, secular, military, national life is determined. We characterized the tradition of respect of the application of certain tissues Cossack, bureaucratic, ecclesiastical nobility.

    The issue of the products typology from silk fabrics in Ukraine XVII – early XX centuries is developed. Defined halo domestic production of silk stockings, hussar «chekchyriv», scarves and more. The items of clothing with silk fabrics are certified in the artistic culture of Ukraine XVII–XIX centuries. The main types of the known so-called Sarmatian portraits, icons, church capes for the cup and paten, surplice are listed. Museums, where the Ukrainian Cossack Regalia of silk fabrics are stored, were researched. The terminological dictionary silk fabrics, distributed in the material and artistic culture of the Russia–Ukraine, are defined.

    In Ukraine currently lacks proper museum of industrial and technological institutions that have significantly enriched our national achievement material and artistic culture of the past. Perhaps combining efforts of source studies, historians and experts, technologists and museum staff gradually be able to compare data archives for information, applied to fabric production in the eighteenth century, and shortcuts products that are constantly deposited on manufactured product, since the nineteenth century. And so finally started to identify their own Ukrainian authentic silk fabrics.
