     TITLE OF ARTICLE AND ABSTRACTS IN ENGLISH

The title of an article must be informative. Only widely-used abbreviations can be used. No transliteration is allowed in the English translation of the title, except for proper names, names of equipment (tools) and other objects that are not translated. Slang that is used among Ukrainian specialists is not allowed in titles. The same is good for abstracts and key-words.

         English language abstracts (summaries and author profiles) in a Ukrainian publication are, for a foreign specialist,the main and the only source of information about the contents of an article and the results of investigation.

         It is the abstract that helps foreign specialists to evaluate the publication and define their interest to it, to use it in their own work or to refer to it, to open a discussion with the author, to ask for a full text of the work etc.

         Thus, the English abstract must be about 250-350 words, i.e. bigger in size than the Ukrainian one. Other requirements to English abstracts are these:

–       informative outlay (an abstract is not to include truisms);

–       originality (an English abstract is not a copy of a Ukrainian one)

–       pithiness (an annotation must reflect the gist of the article and the results of the study);

         – well-structured contents (an abstract must reflect the logics of the article)

–       good English.

     INFORMATION ABOUT AUTHORS

         Surnames and first names of the authors are translated according to one of the accepted systems of transliteration (see further “TABLE for Latin transliteration  of Ukrainian and Russian letters). It is desirable that the author who hopes to get his (her) article into the scientific metric base of the journal should use a single variant if his (her) name and surname.  By so doing the author will avoid having several profiles (identifiers) and his (her) works will be reflected in a fuller size within one profile.

         The same requirements are good to the presentation of the scientific status (position) of the author and the name of organization where he (she) works and carries research.

     LIST OF SOURCES (REFERENCES)

         References are very important in bibliometric and scientific metric studies. SCOPUS tools can sum up citations to do the assessment the significance and popularity of works by certain authors, the scientific level of journals, organizations and countries in general. SCOPUS is also instrumentalin defining the burning issues and directions of study, monitor dynamics in them, rises and falls, etc. Apart from that, an article with many references demonstrates a professional level of outlook and a high quality of investigation done by the author.
