Hlukhiv Dovzhenko National Pedagogical University has almost sesquicentennial history, which, unfortunately, not enough covered in the existing local history studies. Further systematic reconstruction of the University’s past is impossible without a significant expansion of the existing source base. Understanding the importance as a historical source of stored assembly and competent documentation is also advisable to fund documents of personal origin (memoirs, diaries). It is to this latter group of documents memories of spouses Polyarush are belong that from 1964 to 1969 worked at the Hlukhiv Pedagogical Institute. Memoirs were written at our request by inhabitants of Kirovograd O.E. and T.I. Polyarush in autumn 2012. Despite its brevity materials are characterized by a high level of assurance that is confirmed by the information stored in personal files which are saved in the high school archive. The document clearly reflected the quality of human heads and teachers of the Institute (multi-rector O.D. Tomchuk, trade-union M.V. Sushchenko, a teacher V.G. Horpynych, spouses O.E. and T.I. Polyarush). The reflection of everyday life of Hlukhiv 1960 - early 1970's Ukrainian intellectuals belongs to the obvious advantages of these memories. In addition, in the memories briefly outlines the fate of Hlukhiv teachers V.A. Horpynych, Z. Y. Krut’, N.A. Holovan, O.E. and T.I. Polyarush.
The following are the memories O.E. and T.I. Poliarush which are stored in the academic archive of the author of this article. Memories’ copy was passed to the Hlukhiv Historical and Pedagogical Museum. The document is autographed and transmitted without interfering in the original text.
